RGA Team gives back

The RGA Team recently donated a ton of Christmas gifts to the Golisano Children's Hospital

During our annual Christmas party, the team decided to do a gift donation to those that are more in need.  These gifts (over 200), will be donated to the Golisano Children's Hospital.

We are super proud of this team, there unwavering need to work, help and inspire

RGA Team kicks off competitive season at SnowFlake

The level 3 and 4 teams travelled to Buffalo to compete in the Snowflake invitational.

At the first meet of the season, All Around champions include:

Kristian Grahovski in the Top 8 in USA

CONGRATULATIONS:  to Kristian on making the Future Stars national team and can now attend the future stars camp at the Olympic national training center.

The Future Stars National Championships showcase the USA's top 10-, 11-, 12- and 13-year-old male gymnasts who perform special Future Stars competitive routines.

The Future Stars program is designed is to identify talented athletes and to start them on the right developmental path to national and international success. The program uses a special competitive routine format to evaluate the skill, strength and flexibility development of the elite athlete.

Reese and Arianna Invited to National Camp

CONGRATULATIONS: Reese and Ari were invited to attend the National  Developmental Invite Camp at the recent National TOPS Testing in Texas.  They will then automatically Bypass the National TOPS Camp (regardless of results), and join the list of RGA Team members invited to the National Camps.

Anna Huber competes in US CLASSIC

ANNA HUBER - YOUNGEST JUNIOR ELITE COMPETES IN US CLASSIC

Competing over the weekend at the Chicago Sears Center, Anna Huber hit her 4 routines. Coming off injuries, Anna scored 13.400 on Vault, 12.25 on Bars, 11.800 on beam and 12.800 on Floor,  WELL DONE - We are Super proud

Anna Huber - Junior International Elite

Anna Huber is now officially the youngest Junior International Elite Gymnast in the USA.  Anna competed in the American Classic, and scored an impressive 13.200 on Uneven Bars in her first elite competition since qualifying elite at the Buckeye Classic in March.

Level 2/3 NY State Championships

4 New Level 3 and 2 New Level 2 NY State Champions

Over the weekend RGA hoted the upstate Level 2/3 state championships, and the girls delivered the results that we were all hoping for.

Level 2: NY State Champions : Finley Neenan and Megan Connolly

Level 3: NY State champions : Gabrielle Rizzo, Madison Rivero, Rachael Massey, Abby Blake, and Kieryn Finnell.

The Level 2 and 3 teams both won the NY State team championships.

RGA made the GRAND SLAM by winning EVERY state team championship they competed in, placing 1st at Level 2,3,4,5,6,8,9,10

Level 4 NY State Championships

WAY TO GO Level 4 team. 1st Place team at the NY State Level 4 Championships

In the Child A age division, Arianna Williams , Colleen Creary and Jolie Bourgeois placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Kaeden Dunham won the All-Around in the child B age division with Kyley Dohse winning the Child C Age division.  Alexandra Wlostowski and Emily Steinhoff placed 2nd AA in the Jr A and Jr B age divisions.

 

the Level 4 team won the NY State Team competition to keep the RGA unbeaten for all levels in 2015.

XCEL State Championships

CONGRATULATIONS to Our XCEL State All Champions and Regional Qualifiers.  The Girls did fantastic at their FIRST state championships over the weekend.

The XCEL Silvers Placed 2nd place in the team competition, with the Diamonds and Bronze teams placing 3rd. Individual results varied with some notable results:

Bronze: Joelie (Jr) placed 2nd AA

Silver: Emily (Jr B) placed 3rd AA, Ren (Jr C) placed 2nd AA, and Lara won the AA for Sr A, with Allison (Sr A) placing 3rd AA.  In the Sr B age division, Alice won the All-Around title

Platinum: Avery was the NY State runner-up
Diamond: Katie won the All Around

Katie, Avery, Lara, Allison and Ren all earned spots on the NY State team to compete at the Regional Championships.

National Championships

CONGRATULATIONS to Kevin Penev on placing in the top 10 in the Level 9 Junior Elite category at the mens National Championships.  Kevin was selected to the Mens Junior National Team.  Pictures can be found HERE

The RGA women's Level 9 girls competed in Florida at the National Championships over the weekend. If it were not for 3 mistakes from all the girls, we would have 4 National Champions.

Olivia Queri won the National All-Around Title with a flawless meet winning the Junior  4 Age division.

Mia Schlarbaum, with a step on the landing of Beam placed 2nd in the AA by 5/100ths of a point, winning the national title on VT and FX

Julia DiNitto won the Junior 2 National Vault title with a 9.700.

Maya Kraus won the Bronze medal on the Floor Exercise

Competing at the Men's JO Nationals, Mack Lasker won the National Title on Pommel Horse

Women's Level 8 Regional Championships

The RGA women's Level 8 girls competed in Rhode Island at the Region 6 regional Championships over the weekend.

Competing in the Super 7 team, Tessa Sutton won the Regional AA title with Rachel Wilke placing 3rd.

Representing the NY state team for the 8-11 year olds, Alexandra Richardson placed 4th AA

Mikayla Martin placed 2nd AA in the 13 and over age group.

Talia Kraus placed 2nd AA in the Allstar competition with Jana finishing up in 5th place AA.  A very successful end to a fantastic year for the Level 8 team.

New York State won the Team competition for the Super Team, 8-12 year old team and the 13 and over team.

Women's Level 5/6 NY State Championships

The RGA women's Level 5 and 6 team competed in Syracuse over the weekend at the Level 5/6 State Championships.

The girls all hit perfect routines with the Level 5 and 6 teams winning the NY State team titles

The girls ALL placed in the top 2 with the following results

Level 5

Kiran - 1st AA (7-8 years)

Mia and Leanne Tie 1st AA, Reese 3rd AA (9yrs)

Morgan placed 2nd AA in the 11yyrs age group

Jillian 2nd AA in the 10 yrs age group

Karina place 2nd AA in the 12 Child age group

Level 6

Taylor, Delaney, Emmelee, Leah and Ella all won the AA in their respective age groups.  Elizabeth and Talie placed a super close 2nd in their age groups.

Emmelee had 1 judge score her a perfect 10 on beam.

Women's Level 9/10 Regional Championships

The RGA women's team competed in Massachusetts over the weekend at the Level 9/10 Regional Championships.

The girls hit all routines with Kristin and Jersey winning the Level 10 AA regional titles, and Julia, Olivia and Mia winning the Level 9 regional AA titles.

Maya and Peyton placed 3rd AA, and Emily placed 7th AA.

All 4 Level 10 girls and all 4 level 9 girls qualified to the National Championships.

Another interesting statistic is that  Mia, Olivia and Julia had the top 3 AA scores in the entire region scoring 38.20, 38.15 and 38.125 AA respectively

Men's Regional Championships

The RGA men's team travelled to Montgomery County to compete in the Men's Region 7 Championships over the weekend.

Competing at Level 9: Kevin won the Regional AA title competing as a  Junior Elite

At Level 8: Martin placed 3rd AA 

At Level 7: Kristian placed 2nd AA.

At level 7: Cameron placed 2nd AA

At level 5: Ryan placed 2nd AA

 

The RGA Mens Level 5 Team placed 3rd in the Team Championships, and the Level 7 team placed 2nd in the Team Championships.

Going to Nationals: Mack Lasker (Level 10), Kevin Penev (Level 9) and Martin Tchamov (Level 8)

Level 8 NY State Championships

The women's Level 8 NY State championships took place over the April 11th weekend. The Level 8 team won the NY State team titles.

Individual All-Around Champions included:

Mikayla Martin : Level 8 (13Sr) All-Around Champion

Tessa Sutton : Level 8 (8-10 yrs) All-Around Champion

Rachel Wilke : Level 8 (11Sr) All-Around Champion

Alex Richardson : Level 8 (11Jr) All-Around Champion

Tessa and Rachel made the NY State Super Team. 

Alex is a member of the NYS 8-12 year old team.

Mikayla is a member of the NYS 13+ team. 

Melody, Jana, Talia and Marissa also made it to the 2015 Level 8 Regional Championships.

Competing with a broken foot, Katherine Pallivicini won Bars and placed 3rd on Beam

Level 9/10 NY State Championships

The women's NY State championships took place over the March 29th weekend. All Both the Level 10 and Level 9 teamswon the NY State team titles.

Individual All-Around Champions included:

Anna Huber : Level 10 Jr A All-Around Champion

Kristin Lang : Level 10 Jr B All-Around Champion

Julia DiNitto : Level 9 Ch A All-Around Champion

Olivia Queri : Level 9 Ch B All-Around Champion

All the Level 9 and 10 girls qualified to the Regional Championships.

Coach Ivo voted Mens Coach of the year

CONGRATULATIONS to Coach Ivaylo Grahovski, on being voted the NY Men's coach of the year for 2015. 

Ivaylo (Ivo) Grahovki was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. From 1982-1999 he was a member of the CSKA Sports Club in Sofia.  From 1990-1993 he was a competitor for the Bulgarian Junior National Men's Team. Also from 1994-2000 he was a competitor for the Bulgarian National Men's Team. He was also the alternate to the Bulgarian Olympic Team.

Mens NY State Championships

The Men's NY State championships took place over the March 21st weekend. All the boys competing, qualified to the Mens Regional Championships.

Individual All-Around Champions included:

Mack Lasker won the State Title on Pommel Horse

Kevin Penev - Level 9

Martin Tchamov - Level 8

In Level 7, Kristian Grahovski, Ethan Narang and Connor Mruthyunjaya Placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd AA respectively.  Cameron Sallade won the All-Around in the 11-12 age division

Competing at Level 5, Ryan Dugan won the All-Around. Ryan also made the Level 5 NY State Team to compete at the 2015 Regional Championships.

The Level 4 team placed 3rd in the Team competition

The Level 5 team placed 2nd in the Team competition.

The Level 6 team placed 6th in the Team competition

The Level 7 team placed 1st  in the Team competition.

The Level 8 team placed 3rd in the Team competition.

Kalahari Invitational

The compulsory girls competed at  the Kalahari Sundusky Resort over the Weekend

Level 3 AA Champions were: Abby and Emilie,

Level 4 AA Champions were: Arianna, Jolie, Emily

Level 5 AA Champions were: Reese and Morgan

Level 6 AA Champions were: Elizabeth, Emily, Delaney, Taylor, Elle

The Level 2 team placed 9th in the Team competition.

The Level 3 team placed 1st in the Team competition.

The Level 4 team placed 1st in the Team competition

The Level 5 team placed 1st in the Team competition.

The Level 6 team placed 1st in the Team competition

I Love NY Cup

The compulsory girls competed at a cold 'I Love NY Cup' over the weekend.

At Level 5: Reese, Leanne, Kiran and Jillian placed 1st - 4th respectively in the 10 and under age group. Morgan won the 11 Sr age division

At Level 3: The team swept the board taking the top6 spots. Rachael, Abby, Ryann, Kieryn, Emilie and Annalisa placed 1st-6th respectively.

The Level 6's were just as successful, with Elizabeth, Talia, Emmalee and Leah taking the top 4 spots in the 12 and under age group.  Taylor won the AA in the 12-13 age group

At Level 4: Jolie and Colleen placed 1,2 in the Under 9 year age group, while Alexandra, Emily and Kiley took the top 3 spots in the 10year old age group

 

The Level 3 team placed 1st in the Team competition.

The Level 5 team placed 1st in the Team competition.

The Level 6 team placed 1st in the Team competition

Jacquie Hirsch Memorial Meet

The Xcel Girls travelled to the Jacquie Hirsch Invitational and won 1st place team.

Katie Hill won the Xcel Platinum age division

Avery Hall placed 1st AA in the Platinum division

Olivia Finkbeiner won the Xcel Bronze division

 

The Level 3 team placed 1st in the Team competition

Manhattan Classic

The Girls optional teams traveled to NYC to compete in the Manhattan Classic, and stole everything.

Level 8, 9, and 10 teams all placed 1st. GREAT MEET

Level 10: Peyton Hinterberger placed 1st all-around out of all the level 10's competing in the meet (85 level 10 girls)

Level 9: Olivia placed 1st AA in the Jr A age division and also beat all the other 224 level 9 girls across all age groups. Maya Kraus won the Jr B age division

Level 8: Katherine Pallavicini won the Jr B age division, and also beat all the other 302 level 8 girls across all age groups. Jana Day won the Jr A age division

RGA also won the Manhattan Spirit award for 2015

Leatherstocking Invitational

Level 4 - 1st Place Team

Colleen, Arianna, Kaeden, Jolie, Emma, Katie place on top of the podium at Leatherstocking placing 1st to 6th respectively. In the 10 year old age group, Alexandra, Kiley and  Emily placed 1,2,3 respectively.

Level 5 - 1st Place Team

Reese, Kiran, Leanne, Mia and Jillian took the top 5 spots placing 1st to 5th respectively. Morgan placed 1st AA in the 11 yeay old age group and Karina placed 2nd in the 12 and over age group

Level 6 - 1st Place Team

Emmalee, Elizabeth, Elle, Leah A, Leah V Placed 1st to 5th respectively in the 11 and under age group.  Talia and Taylor took the top 2 spots in the 12-13 year olds.

Olivia, Julia Placed 1st and 2nd respectively in their age group

Mia won her age group winning Vault and the AA

2014 NATIONAL TOPS Team

Mia Viola, Leann Desmond, and Tessa Sutton all qualified to the National TOPS A Camp  to take place at the US Women's training center in December. TOP's (Talent Opportunity Program), is a talent search and educational program for female gymnasts ages 7-11 and their coaches.

These 3 ladies placed in the top 20 in the country in their age group

 

Reese Borrell and Kiran Mruthyunjaya both qualified to the National TOPS B Camp

2014 NATIONAL TOPS Qualifiers

Mia Viola, Reese Borrell, Kiran Mruthyunjaya, Leann Desmond, Tessa Sutton and Alex Richardson all qualified to the National TOPS testing to take place at the US Women's training center in October. TOP's (Talent Opportunity Program), is a talent search and educational program for female gymnasts ages 7-11 and their coaches. During the months of June and July gymnasts are evaluated on physical abilities at the regional level. From there, athletes are invited to participate in the National TOP test that is conducted in the month of October where they will be evaluated on the same physical abilities tests along with some basic gymnastics skills. Athletes are then invited to participate in the National TOP Training camp which takes place in December of each year.

Eddie Penev Named  as Male Athlete of the Month

Eddie Penev of Penfield, N.Y./Team Hilton HHonors (Stanford University), has been named U.S. Olympic Committee’s June Male Athlete of the Month. Penev took home two gold medals at the 2014 World Challenge Cup in Anadia, Portugal, after winning floor exercise (15.225) and vault (15.625).

2014 Level 4 State Championships

CONGRATULATIONS to the Level 5's

Our Level 4's rocked at the 2014 NY State Championships, with

Reese Borrell (Child A), Ciarra Franz (Junior B) and Sydney Holland (Senior A) all winning the NY State All Around Titles.

Mia Viola, Kiran Mrunthyanjaya and Leanne Desmond Placed 2,3, and 4 respectively in the Child A age  division.  Ana Paku, Morgan Romeis and Jillian Ambler placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively in the Child B age division.

Colleen Creary and Karina Ekholm helped the team win yet another team title.  The RGA Level 4 Team won the State Team Championships

Our Level 5's rocked at the 2014 NY State Championships, with

Leah Andrews (Child A), Elle Richards-Dyson (Child B), Leah Vaughn (Child C), Elizabeth Litvinov (Child D), Emmelee Moore (Junior A) and Taylor Stanley (Junior C) all winning the NY State All Around Titles.

Talia Senall placed 2nd in the Junior B age division.

Eve Sutton and Clara Thiele placed 3rd and 4th in NYS respectively

CONGRATULATIONS:

RGA Men's level 8,9 and 10's competed in Long Beach, CA at the 2014 Men's JO National Championships

Kevin, competing as a Level 9 Junior Elite, had a fantastic meet, placing 3rd on Vault, and 5th on Pommel horse. 

Kevin Placed 7th in the All-Around.

Kevin Makes JO Future Stars National Team

Kevin Penev place 5th at the National Future stars testing to earn a spot on the JO Future Stars National Team over the weekend.  The Future Stars National Championships features the USA's best 10-, 11-, 12- and 13-year-olds who perform special Future Stars competitive routines. Based on the results at the championships, USA Gymnastics identifies the Future Stars Developmental Team.
